Here in Switzerland it's the same.
On one hand I would like to see more christmas decoration in stores around this time and on the other hand I need cold weather to get into christmas feelings therefore its too early for me.
This year I got the "christmas in july" in full extent on my holiday. That was an interesting experience, but I am not sure if I would want it each year.
I guess we European are just different than the Americans.
