Loved this! I love unexpectedly hearing anecdotes about relatives. I especially felt that way this past week when I found out about and purchased a book about my hometown and saw so many photos of a precious time in my life.

I heard some stories about my dad that I hadn't heard, and it's nice to know that he was loved and remembered affectionately by so many. One former neighbor told me he came to her house to play Santa Claus for her children one Christmas, and that he was the best Santa she had ever seen. I was too young to remember, because that happened the year I was born, but I have two photos of him in his costume. I also recalled the wonderful outdoor Christmas display he built from scratch out of wood---a huge lighted lectern with a Bible on it, open to the Christmas verses in Luke. We only had it one season because we moved the next year, but it was a beautiful sight. So there was a little Christmas shared today.
