December Trip to NYC

I'm taking a day trip to NYC this December with four other ladies. I've already planned to visit Rockefeller Plaza, FAO Schwartz, Macy's, and ground zero. I'd like to find other Christmasy things to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I'd love to do that, but I may not since they are coming to our area on the 11th. If I can't get tickets for that, then I'll try to see them while in NY.

my sister talked about the amazing window displays at the stores in New York, I know one of them was Macey's but cannot remember the rest off hand. (she lives in Vermont and goes to New York with her hubby from time to time)

I have no suggestions as I have never been but I must admit that I am totally jealous! Your time in New York City will be very magical and I hope to experience it someday. The only thing that will come close to that for me this year is going to Lambeau Field in Green Bay on December 27th. It's not quite Christmas themed, but I am sure Lambeau and the city of Green Bay will have added a few more decorations since I was there a few years ago.

Anyway, enjoy your time in NYC!

They are coming here as well and I'm going to see them this year too! I went to see them the last time they were here in 2004. I've always wanted to see them in Radio City Music Hall though.

When I went to New York my brother went with me and he insisted that it wasn't a complete trip unless you rode the subway! It wasn't that bad but, you can see some interesting stuff down there. It's not very Christmassy but hey, it's something New York-y to do. Empire State building too. Although when I went I didn't get to go to the top because of the 1 1/2 hour wait to do so.

1. The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, at Rockefeller Center, with the world-famous Rockettes.
2. FAO Schwartz toy store.
3. Macy's Department store (it's on 34th Street, as in Miracle on 34th Street).
4. The Empire State Building, from 1931 to 1971 the world's tallest building.
5. A Broadway show.
6. An open carriage ride through Central Park.
7. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, with its Christmas Tree and Neapolitan Baroque Crèche.
8. Free audience tickets for The Late Show with David Letterman, The View, Live with Regis and Kelly, or Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
9. Ice skating at Wollman Rink in Central Park.
10. Ellis Island Immigration Museum, where nearly twelve million immigrants entered the U.S. 1892-1954.
11. St. Patrick's Cathedral.
12. The Christmas display windows at Lord & Taylor.

Ground Zero? The thought is appreciated, but in reality, it's a hole in the ground now, and it will be years before a formal memorial is built.
