My Dog Sam
Dear Abby, I too was picked on when I was a child and I too turned to our dog Queenie. She always gave me love and she always listened. Bless you.
Not really! I've had many years where i'm still out on Christmas Eve trying to find that 1 (or 5) last gift, lol! But I do try to get finished up at least a few days before so I can be done with it and not have to stress over it anymore. Mabe I should set that as my goal this year... to be done with all my shopping by the 15th.

Well you have inspired me to set a deadline now, LOL. I think my deadline will be Sunday 12/5. And I will make my wrapping deadline Sunday 12/12. Lets see if I can stick to it!! It will be GREAT if I can!

No deadline here, I actually like it to last a bit now as part of Christmas is buying/making something for someone and going through all the trouble to wrap and decorate... I guess I am in the minority on this one

Yes, we try to be finished before Thanksgiving. The shopping centers near us get mobbed during the traditional shopping season, and it's all your car and your life are worth to try to park. Each year we're 99% finished by Thanksgiving, and spend the long Thanksgiving weekend wrapping and packing gifts to go out in the mail while we listen to a steady stream of Christmas music and OTR programs. It really kicks the season off for us.
When I use to have a lot of family to buy for I would get most of my shopping done by November 1st so I could sit back and relax. The only ones I would wait until December to buy for is my kids since they couldn't quite make up their minds what they wanted for Christmas. They usually knew exactly what they wanted by then.
I really don't have a deadline now since the family has grown over the years and we decided to stop exchanging with everyone. Got way too expensive.
I usually get it all done within the first week of December. As of now I have most of it done.
