My Dog Sam
Dear Abby, I too was picked on when I was a child and I too turned to our dog Queenie. She always gave me love and she always listened. Bless you.
I went with a Christmas Story. the others like its a wonderful life I think should be left alone. Who would they find to EVEN come close to Jimmy Stewart. I know one you forgot Mr. Jeff, White Christmas.

Not sure I can pick. Especially, It's a Wonderful Life. Jimmy Stewart is just so perfect along with the rest of the cast.
Laney, you do have a good point on how things have changed and that would be interesting to see it remade for that reason. When you think about George Bailey wanting to jump a bridge over $8000.00 seems laughable today because that is not that much money in this day and time. A modern version would be interesting and I would watch it but I don't think it could ever replace the way I feel about the original.
I will have to think on it and get back to it later.
These are all perfect the way they are. I can't imagine a new version of any of them. I guess that's why I'm not a movie studio executive, eh?
You've put your finger on it, Bradmac. Yes, I'm biased toward the vintage originals---there's no need to remake something that works and has worked beautifully for decades. Clean and restore the original elements as necessary, strike new prints, and re-release them to theaters! I still remember what a wonderful experience is was to see a fresh, beautiful IB-Technicolor print of "Gone with the Wind" when it was re-released in 1999. The quality was breathtaking, and the chance to see the original at its very best---priceless.
