My Dog Sam
Dear Abby, I too was picked on when I was a child and I too turned to our dog Queenie. She always gave me love and she always listened. Bless you.
What is the one thing your family and you do every Christmas? Is there a special movie/show you watch? Do you always go to church together? Is there a special meal, cookie, pie you have? Share your memory here!
I will start...
Every Christmas, my family always goes to Christmas Eve mass. I always used to go with my family, but ever since I dated my husband, I have went with his family to Christmas Eve mass and then we celebrate Christmas on the Eve. I am not sure when we will do it this year though because we both work night shift this year on Christmas Eve and he will have to go until work at 4:30. Bummer...anyway, we always go home from church then and open presents and watch a Christmas Story. What a classic! Now that I have kids, we spend the night at his parents house, which I think once my daughter gets another year older, we will start spending the night at our house, that way she knows Santa is coming to our house! Every Christmas Day then, we spend it with my family. We open gifts at my house for my kids before we go out to my parents, then we go out there for the day. We have a ham and turkey every year and we watch Christmas show and movies all day. We also watch the parades. I should be off this Christmas Day night this year since I have to work the Eve. I think my husband is too, so that will be so nice because both of us won't have to take any naps during the day!!! I know we kind of do pretty much the same thing every year, but that is why I love Christmas and that is why I love my family!

I have to watch White Christmas, that is a must. I think I have it memorized now! My mom talked me into watching it one year when I was a teen and I fell in love with it. We never made cookies or left them out for Santa. But the meal we shared when I was child was straight out of Dickens. We had the traditional English meal, (now I know where my love of England comes from). I do the Norad tracker of Santa, and I'm usually on MMC with my Christmas family!

Christmas Eve, especially in the evening, is movie time. We head to our "screening room" in the basement and thread up the projector. The program varies, but always includes some Castle Films carol reels, Gloria Jean in "Snowtime Serenade," a feature-length Christmas film, and "Star in the Night." We spend Christmas Day with Mr.'s family, and sometimes have some more films in the evening.
8 PM Christmas Eve Candle Light Service at church... then home, where my daughter and I will watch Mister Magoo's Christmas Carol... Christmas morning opening presents, then off to my Dad's for Christmas lunch/dinner, followed by an afternoon of playing board games and eating cookies with the siblings and in-laws...

I have a long list of 'must watch' Christmas movies along with catching Christmas episodes of my favorite shows. Oh, and can't forget the Christmas specials! We always watch Christmas Vacation while decorating the tree, go to the Festival of Trees and watch the parade of lights!
Every Christmas...well Christmas season my sister and I begin watching Christmas movies every weekend until Christmas eve. We usually begin watching them near the end of November because we own too many Christmas DVDs to begin in December!!

Ever since hubby and I have been together I have cooked Christmas dinner at home. Over the years the menu and guest list has changed. About 5 years ago we decided to stay home on christmas eve and make a Christmas Eve dinner at home and that has now evolved to the Italian seafood dinner. We watch christmas movies all month long, drive around and look at Christmas lights.
