I think it's sad that such a big deal is being made over a tree. When I was in high school, our librarian would put a "holiday tree" in the library. It use to annoy me slightly because it's not a "Holiday tree" it's a "Christmas tree". You don't see Jewish people with Christmas trees because they have a menorah for Hanukka (sp?). Every holiday has it's own decorations. Can't they just leave the tree alone? I mean a Christmas tree is not attacking anyone's religious beliefs. What are they afraid of? Do they think the tree is going to sprout some arms and legs and pick up the club of Christ and beat the precious word of God into their children?
It sounds like they're the ones insulting Christians. They're the ones not allowing us to have the freedom of religion to celebrate the holidays we choose, not the other way around. Why is it ok for them to worship or not worship anything, but it's not ok for us when the U.S. bill of rights states that we all have freedom of religion in the first amendment? It's not like the tree is inside of their homes, it's out in the public. These people need to just get over themselves and get a life. Plus, Christmas is supposed to be about Christ and family togetherness. If they don't like it, they don't even have to acknowledge that Christmas exists. They don't have to be scrooges about it and ruin everyone else's fun.
