The people have spoken - and boy, did they speak!!! This was practically a landslide victory!! Funnily enough, the reasons given for picking this member were nigh on identical too
"is always a positive member, with words of kindness and encouragement"
"always answer everyone's posts.........Cheerful and helpful"
"is thoughtful and responds to everyone's needs and comments.......is truly interested in everyone on the forum"
"is just precious to this site & it's members; is always concerned for others & checks on us as often as is possible"
This is just the tip of the iceberg - there are WAY more where that came from
Maybe this caring nature stems from her healthcare profession but I genuinely feel it is a deep rooted streak of just being plain nice. Yes, you've guessed it; our April 2012 Member of the Month is Kirstin aka Sugar142286
Kirstin was born and raised in Roaring Spring Pa and currently lives in Altoona, Pa with her firefighter husband, daughter (2 1/2) and son (9 mo,) Last but by no means least comes Ella, the Golden Retriever (6)!
Family is a major part of Kirstin's life and her favorite part of the season is getting together with the family that she don't get to see very often, sharing stories, sitting around the fire, and just knowing that they're in her presence. The only thing that could make this better is doing all of that AND munching on Christmas cookies. The fact that Kirstin considers them her favourite Christmas food probably stems from the yearly tradition of getting together with her mother and brother to bake lots of candies and cookies for Christmas. Traditions continuing, there is also a light display in town called Holiday Lights on the Lake which Kirstin and her family never miss it, with hot chocolate and listening to Christmas music on the way.
When asked which Christmas she remembered best and why, Kirstin replied "Honestly, I would probably have to say this past Christmas was my best ever so far. My daughter was old enough to understand and she was so amazing with Christmas. Growing up, Christmas was great too and my parents always made Christmas great and I loved Christmas, but coming to MMC has made Christmas #10 better. Now, my daugther loves Santa too and talks about him all the time!!! She had such a great Christmas. Christmas Eve mass was so beautiful and so were the few days I spent with my family"
Kirstin made one other point which I'd like to share with you; it sums up exactly why she was chosen as this month's winner
"MMC means the world to me. I have met so many great people and I truly do call them friends. I look foward to coming here everyday. I don't know what I would do without you guys and I mean that from the bottom of my heart! This place has become my 2nd home. MMC is what Christmas is in a nutshell to me. I love it here and wouldn't change it for the world."
Well, speaking for the rest of us, we love having you here and we wouldn't change you for the world either Sugar142286!!!!
