Carol for Another Christmas starring Peter Sellers (1964)

Has anyone seen, Carol for Another Christmas, starring Peter Sellers released in 1964?

My mom and I were talking about another Peter Sellers movie so I went on IMDB to look it up and found this on the list of movies he starred in. I never heard of it. It got 8.1 stars out of 10. I am wondering who has seen it and if you liked it? I definitely want to see it!

Description of movie:
Presented without commercial interruptions, this "United Nations Special" was sponsored by the Xerox Corporation, the first of a series of Xerox specials promoting the UN. Director Joseph Mankiewicz's first work for television, the 90-minute ABC drama was publicized as having an all-star cast (which meant that names of some supporting cast members were not officially released). In Rod Serling's update of Charles Dickens, industrial tycoon Daniel Grudge has never recovered from the loss of his 22-year-old son Marley, killed in action during Christmas Eve of 1944. The embittered Grudge has only scorn for any American involvement in international affairs. But then the Ghost of Christmas Past takes him back through time to a World War I troopship. Grudge also is visited by the Ghost of Christmas Present, and the Ghost of Christmas Future gives him a tour across a desolate landscape where he sees the ruins of a once-great civilization.

A quick Google indicates that it was broadcast only once, and it doesn't seem to have ever been released on video. A dealer in Canada is offering it for sale on DVD, but the quality of his source material is probably questionable. Sounds good, though---it was written by Rod Serling!

Don't give up hope---you never know what will be rediscovered and re-released. My Christmas video Holy Grail was the live musical broadcast of "The Stingiest Man in Town," starring Basil Rathbone. No complete kinescope was known to exist---until one was found last year! It was transferred to video, released on DVD, and I had a copy before Christmas!

I had no idea this existed - I hope it comes out on DVD or something soon!

A lot depends on (1) who holds the copyright, (2) if they believe they can make money by selling DVDs of it, and (3) if complete, good-quality source materials are available. The copyright holder or a licensee would have to finance transferring the original master to a digital format (not cheap!) and mass-producing DVDs. If the copyright has fallen into public domain, someone still needs to locate good-quality source materials and finance the transfer and production. That's a lot of "ifs," but it COULD happen. If anyone lives near the Library of Congress, they could check the current copyright status. (Copyrights registered before 1978 are not searchable electronically---you have to go to the LOC and look up its registration card in the copyright card catalog.) If Xerox Corporation still owns the copyright and the masters, bug Xerox until they bring it out on DVD!

I also googled the movie online and someone in another forums mentioned that they got to view it at some type of movie museum. They said it was well worth watching.

It would be nice to have it on DVD.
