What is Santa Claus doing in October?

The work has really picked up. The candy canes are nearly finished, the reindeer are being trained for their long ride and maps are being made of where to go. NATO has been asked to give Santa a fighter escort through the Middle East on Christmas Eve.

Checking the Elf weather reports for December, more snow is forecast as well as fog. All the elves are pulling double shifts for their reward extra cookies are being baked around the clock.

So I'm running a little behind this month.

Reindeer- They have been working on high altitude flying and getting their bodies use to the lack of oxygen. They have also been working on landings and take offs.

Kitchen- All of the piece's for the gingerbread christmas tree are done. Now they are just waiting until the north pole halloween party is over to begin assembly.

Workshop- Things are crazy in the workshop. There are parts and pieces everywhere. Santa even had to close it down for awhile to make them clean up. He was afraid that if something heppened all of the elves would be trapped inside and never be able to get out.

Wrapping department- There was a slight mistake earlier in the month that led to a shipment of tape not coming in on time and the workshop had to close down for a few days. Now there is a mad rush to get caught up.

Clothing- The clothing department is once again cranking out the clothes at an amazing rate. They have even sent some of their staff over to the wrapping department to help them get caught up.

Post Office- The post office is getting geared up for the onslaught of letters that will start to arrive right after halloween. This involves setting up some extra sorting tables and more computer equipment.

Santa and Mrs. Claus- Santa and Mrs. Claus have been locked away for weeks planning this years halloween party. The party has always been the unoffical kick off to the holiday season at the north pole and a final chance for the elves to have a party before the mad rush hits.

With the clocks changing around the world it can be a little confusing in order to compensate in the different hemispheres the clocks go back 2 hours in West of Santa's workshop and go forward 2 hours in the East of Santa's workshop
