From Jan M come this very complicated question:
Your article about the baby reindeer boom makes me curious: With so many reindeer being born just now, how many of the female reindeer couldn't participate in the Reindeer Games because they were expecting? The timing of the annual Reindeer Games seems unfortunate for the expectant does.
Thanks for question, Jan. Santa said you were always a bright girl! I took this question straight to him -- and he laughed, knowing it comes from you. I wonder why that is?
Anyway, everyone knows the reindeer games are held in December. It is an important part of the process of getting the reindeer ready for their Christmas duties.
That being said it is the HIGHEST honor a girl reindeer can ever have to give birth to a new reindeer who could one day work for Santa Claus. All the girls aspire to be the mother of a great reindeer and there are no greater reindeer than those who work for Santa. So most don't mind missing a year of the games.
Did you know that girl reindeer WIN the reindeer games 53.4% of the time?
Most the boy reindeer can't stand it when I remind them of that fact.
