I don't think Hallmark's intentions are sinister, but I do think it's misguided and even borderline silly for them feel the need to change the word "gay" because it's use is outdated and it's meaning can be misinterpreted. The same can be said about the word "don" but they didn't bother changing that. This was a non issue until they decided to make it one.

That's exactly right.

When market a product...who are you looking to sell to? Could I buy this ornament? Not on my life (not like I would have purchased it if it were correct anyway).

So who's the market here?

Snowflake Can you believe it!

I would have to say that it is down right silly.
But between the corporates, the media and other insecure persons who feel threatened, they are trying for a "so-called" non-offensive society, when in fact, it is THEY who are becoming and encouraging to be intolerant.
I will sing "Gay" apparel for I know what it truly is standing for, because it has nothing to do with sexuality.
That is the difference between being objective and thinking something through, and being and encouraging subjectivity, which basically is through the feelings, which in most cases has nothing to do with practicality and intellect.
I meet up with that on a daily basis, and it is so frustrating!
UGH.......!
