Summer Plans?

Given the blizzard going on outside today and with Christmas over, I thought we could use some "warm talk" about what any plans for summer trips/vacations we have planned.

This year we are headed to Colorado for week of hiking and rafting. Naturally the golf clubs will make the trip with us. I'm sure my wife will work a trip to the outlet malls into the summer also.

So, anyone else planning trips?

That sounds absolutely wonderful!!!!!!

I've got a couple of things bubbling away in the background and if one of them comes through, I may be able to upgrade my vacation plans! Due to my work, summer isn't a good time to have a holiday (too many people wanting to get married!) so hopefully we may get somewhere in October. It's been a couple of years now since I've been home (Toronto) so due to the increase in homesickness, I'd like to head there

We have a very dear 87-year-old friend who lives in Hawaii with her son on a fairly isolated farm in the rainforest, and we're going to try to visit her. We try to get there each year for a few days because she looks forward to it so much (and so do we!)---we take her into Hilo to eat and to shop, and we bring her little gifts talk with her for hours and hours. It isn't easy to get over there once a year, but if we didn't find a way to manage it, it would break her heart. As for us, the time we spend with her is priceless.

She was a teenage singing star in Hollywood in the 1940s, and we worked with her to write her biography a few years ago. We love to hear her tell about what it was like to work with W.C. Fields, Bing Crosby, Donald O'Connor, Mel Torme, the Andrews Sisters, and others. In some ways, she's still a teenager at heart, and an absolute delight to be with.

We will going to Myrtle Beach, SC for a week trip, which we do every year. We love it there. It's about a 10 hour drive, but it is totally worth it! We will also go camping and hopefully it will be more than a weekend this year. We'll see! We also do lots of day trips. In the spring time, I start to plan things, but I'll just have to see where the summer take us. We do a lot of "camp outs" in our backyard, fires, that type of thing. I look forward to summertime with my family!

It's summer here now but I am not planning on going anywhere until March and then we are crossing the Strait with the 4WD and having a camping (glamping) holiday in Tasmania. Visiting the chocolate and beer makers.

Christmas Tree

We are planning on a lot of weekend trips! Now that we are back in Wisconsin, we'd like to go further north to do some kayaking, camping, hiking, and boating. We'd also like to visit Door County together. Such a beautiful area. And at some point, we are planning to take a big trip to Ireland.
