Tips for Buying a Fresh Tree

Our family has a couple traditions for thanksgiving.
Like putting up the christmas tree, the day before thanksgiving.
Another that just started last year, was getting a chocolate turkey from see's candies.
Last year we found them by our plates.
And no we didn't have them for dinner.
A couple had them with and then the rest had them after.
My dad just brought some home today, and I just found out!
Those are the only ones I can think of.
What thanksgiving traditions does your family have?
I love tradition. It is always a tradition for my youngest daughter and her family to spend Thanksgiving with us. They drive over from the east coast of Florida to feast and spend the day. I always roast our traditional Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, and all the other dishes I come up with watching foodnetwork channel. Lol...This year I have our Christmas tree up and decorated. I have never done this before but since we don't get to see each other on Christmas, decided to begin a new tradition this year with tree up.

Update: Since I bought another tree after last Christmas and hope to put up two trees along with all my mini's I may start even before Thanksgiving. so I can get it all out and put out around the home. I have many decorations and this tends to take alot of time so I hope to start even earlier. As for Thanksgiving not sure if we will meet with family or do our own thing at home. We have done both in the past so I guess time will tell as the day draws nearer.
We go out the day after Thanksgiving, yes 'that' day, and cut down our tree. We go to a farm that takes us on a horse drawn wagon to the trees, where we take forever to pick the perfect one, then cut it down. Two years ago we started letting the kids each pick a tree for their rooms. So now we have 3 live trees in the house! and the bill is not little after 3 trees.....but it is a great time and the kids will always remember it. now I am going to cry.............
