Dasher Wins Big as Reindeer Games Close

It is a quiet Sunday here at the North Pole. But Saturday ended in a big way as Dasher, one of Santa's original eight reindeer, took the most medals at the annual Reindeer Games held here at the North Pole.

It is very rare to see much of Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen (or even Rudolph) during the reindeer games. These special reindeer are used by Santa every Christmas. They are very old and special reindeer. Santa already knows what they can do. So he does not let them compete much during the reindeer games because he does not want them to get hurt.

But Dasher joined many of the games this year because he had surgery on a bad knee last summer. Elf Victor has been training with Dasher to make the knee stronger and Santa asked him to compete in the games to show how well his knee was working.

It is working fine. Dasher won the altitude competition, the speed trials and the agility drills by a large margin. He was voted "Most Valuable Reindeer" and the "Comeback Reindeer of the Year".
