Tips for Buying a Fresh Tree
I will do that fresh cut of the trunk.....that was my problem last Christmas.....the tree lost so many needles....even tho it was fresh....the problem was....since I didn´t cut the trunk....the tree...
We were all set to take down our tree this weekend. But the snow saved it.
It has been an usually mild winter here in Salt Lake City. It started out hopeful with a dusting of snow right after Halloween. But after a few bizarre sub-zero days just after Thanksgiving the last month or so has been more like October or May -- just not Christmasy at all!
So when 10-inches were forcast for today we decided we needed to keep the tree up a little longer to enjoy it. And you should see it. Our living room window is wide open with the pure white of a winter wonderland serving as a backdrop to our fabulous tree. The fire in the fireplace is roaring.
Very good news! Where I live, I experience the perfect Christmas post card scene. I don't care for the cold temps. but there's nothing that paints an image of Christmas like a snow covered Christmas Tree and the glowing warmth of a fireplace.
8) I am glad you and your family can enjoy your Christmas Tree with snow.
Well we are not having any snow here in Florida but it has been very chilly and leaving me wishing my tree was still up. I'm just listening to Christmas music while I watch snow fall on my screensaver. How wonderful that's it's looking like a Winter Wonderland where you are. I'm not a fan of the white stuff but I do like it for Christmas.
8) 8) It's snowing in Nashville!!! This is the first time it has actually hit the ground all season. I am so excited! I want to put the tree back up. (Note to self: Keep small decorated tree in closet for such occasions.) Whoohoo!! 8)
Oh Wow Jeff: I am back in the Christmas spirit after reading your post. Good for you in keeping the Christmas tree up. Most everyones decorations are down in Florida. There is one house that is still loaded with lights, sorta reminds me of National Lampoons House...As we drove by it tonight, I said to my husband, "If I went to that work in putting up all those lights, you better believe I would leave them up for a while too." We pass this house at least twice a week and it always gives me a warm and Christmassy feeling.
I find myself saddened by how quickly they take their decoratons down around here. They put them up early and take them down just as quickly. Twinkle where is the house that is still decorated? I may live near it as well.
We ought to have a "Last to turn their lights off 'competition.'" We won't really compete or win anything, but I am curious how long some folks will go. I saw someone with the whole house and yard lit up on my way home from work last night here in Nashville.
