What do you dislike about the holiday season and why?

Since we keep on discussing on the good and positive aspects of Christmas and the holiday season, I think it is time to balance things out by discussing the opposite.

So, with that being said, what do you like dislike about the holiday season and why? Or do you get ever stress out and become exhausted during or after the Christmas or the holiday season?

I just don't like the fact that it's so short! I wish it lasted all winter!! For us folks here in Atlanta, the real cold weather doesn't actually hit until late January and lasts until early March. We got snow this past February and I had to break out the Christmas mugs and make some homemade hot cocoa!

I dislike the pressure I put on myself. I become (or try to become) Patty Perfect (family name.. no offense meant).. I try to be everything to everyone and make Christmas perfect for everyone... the perfect gift, the perfect tree, the perfect house decorations. Making sure we give enough of our time, money and talents to charity. Also the job I do is very hectic around the holidays so I have that added stres.. So that is what I hate.. the pressure

I like Christmas but I dislike all the pressure for a perfect holiday season and the fact that the stores have already started putting out Christmas stuff and its barely summer! The commericalism drives me nuts.

Yea...commercialism too. I totally agree stoerkel. I think once I get into my house and have kids, I'll put a lot of pressure on myself to make everything perfect...maybe this Christmas I'lll put pressure on myself. But for the most part, I want to enjoy my family and the season. I keep that in mind. No stress. All fun.

I hate the fact that the season seems so short. I always have these wonderful things I want to do during the Christmas season and there just aren't enough hours in the day to get them all in.

The only reason I don't like the holiday season is that stores and companies are no longer saying "Merry Christmas" to there Customers or adding banners or decorations as such. Really Christmas is more to do for family occasions and family get togethers than religion so I don't see why its such a big deal...

Amen!!! Last year we almost didn't get our baking day in because Christmas crept up on us so fast. This year it's my plan to pick a Saturday between Thanksgiving and Christmas for our baking day and not let anything steal that day from us. The kids just love helping make cookies and fudge which we then eat and use as Christmas gifts for friends.

tree Well.....

My Father the Grinchy SCROOGE (yes he is both)!
My brother - who refuses to put a tree up since he feels its not Holy enough.
Those afraid to say MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Those who forget the Real Reason for the Season.
Holiday trees...what the heck is that? I think they mean Christmas Trees!
Those "with out" - that i do not know and can not help.

That being said..... I would not miss it, skip it, ignore it, or give it up for anything in the world.
I have always and will continue to always LOVE CHRISTMAS!
