NBC's Tim Russert Passes Away

It was reported today that NBC News anchor and host of Meet the Press, Tim Russert, died of a heart attack while at the news bureau. He was 58 years old.

I loved this guy and his political coverage...And so young...A real shame...

I thought he was pretty cool. I was a broadcast journalism major in college and had to study different pundits. He'll definitely be missed. I'll be praying for his family.

As a political junkie this is news that really shakes me. As a person, it saddens me deeply. Russert was clearly a man devoted to his family. He honored his heritage and took brave, huge steps in being one of the very best in his profession.

That he was loathed equally by conservatives and liberals alike -- and loved by them as a result -- speaks volumes of his journalistic professionalism. What a loss.

Rest in peace, Tim. You are greatly admired and will be missed.

It's funny how these people who we watch every day bring us the news, good and the bad, become like a part of the family. It is a sad day. I'm watching the news now and it is always amazing to hear the stories about working with Mr. Russert. He will be missed.

I remember, after my grandmother got too frail to go to church on Sundays, she would watch religious services on TV and then immediately go to Meet the Press. We would come home from church and I would sit with her and watch. My grandmother was a lifelong Democrat and a conservative. My mother is a Republican conservative. Because we were encouraged to discuss political, social and religious issues, I grew up to be an Independent Centrist. Watching Meet the Press, with Mr. Russert, on Sunday's was a family tradition and made me who I am today.
