Anybody get voting perks at work?

This is my first thread so hopefully it's ok! Anyway, I was wondering if anybody gets anything special at their jobs for voting? Where I work they will give you 4 hours of PTO time if you bring in proof that you went and voted! It's a nice little perk. So, I was wondering if this is something that just my company is doing or are there other companies out there that do something similar?

Nothing like that where my husband works. I think it's a good idea. Sometimes people can't vote because they can't get away from work before the polls close.

I think it´s a very good idea, too...I mean....voting should be the priority on that day...and everyone should be able to go voting.

In Germany all the elections are on Sunday....so most people can go voting...that´s a good thing

Isn't it against the law to work people so they are prevented from voting? I believe it is federal law that they have to give you time off to work.

I have about 700 people I'm over and we've already sent all the memos about voting.

No perks for us...but, of course, we do get those cute little stickers from the polling place so that makes it worth it!

I'm not sure about it being against the law to keep them from voting. That's never been mentioned and it's never been mentioned that we couldn't go and vote either. They just started doing it as an incentive to go and vote. It started with the last election. There's been write ups in the local newspaper about them doing that as well. It's just a nice little perk to give us. I love it because it gives me more time to use at Christmas time! I think the idea was to push people into voting because everyone said that the Bush/Kerry election was the most important election of our time and everyone should vote. So this was their way of giving people that extra push to get out there and vote. Of course now they are saying that THIS election is the most important one of our time.

I've always been allowed to leave work to vote, but no extra perks. I am actually going to vote today! Polls open today for early voting.

IT'S IMPORTANT TO VOTE!!
