I try to only use my car once a week and where I live it's not easy for nothing is in walking or bike riding distance. We try to double up when we go anywhere, if I need to go I'll call my friend up the road to see if she wants to go with me and she does the same for me.

We have spring water so we have been conserving water for 24 years.
Hubby put plastic on most of the windows.
I cut hubby's hair and I do my own hair.
I shop at the Goodwill store when they have the 50 percent off weekend.
I'm going to Aldi's this week to stock up on groceries for the holidays.
We don't go to movies, we don't rent movies. But I do buy dvd's when they are reasonable, I will not spend over $15 for them.
I keep flannel sheets on our bed.
We bought a Comfort Zone heater which is saving our heating oil for we have had a very cold October with frost and freezing temps.
I buy all my cleaning supplies at the dollar stores, cheaper than other stores.
We live a very simple lifestyle.

Do you now have ALDI stores in the US ? That's great. It's a German chain and they now have a competitor called LIDL (by one of the Aldi brothers). I go there too but mostly for things like toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, cleaning products etc and some of their fresh produce is good quality for a very low price.

Yeah Aldi has been in the States for a few years now...cool heh? Lidl has been there for at least 10 to 15 years I think over here....itīs funny...many of the supermarket chains are getting together to beat Aldi...but never make it.

I like Aldi, too and we go there from time to time....I usually go to the bigger market that has more range of articles...and always buy the cheapest stuff there.

I prefer Lidl to Aldi. They have better quality I think. Definitely for fruits and veggies though I buy kiwis at Aldi; they're always cheapest

Lidl also has some of the big brands...which is something I like...tho I hardly buy them...it´s nice that if You are at Lidl and long for some chips of a good brand for example....You can take it along there...and don´t have to drive somewhere else...as it is with Aldi....I still prefer Aldi, tho....maybe it´s sentimental...
