I picked Christmas Vacation because I just LOVE it--I can watch it over and over again!
The funny thing is, I never even knew about, and had never seen, A Christmas Story, until I met my husband in 1994. He loved it and it was a tradition in his family to watch it. I bought it for him (on vhs) a couple of years later. I do like it, but I still prefer Christmas Vacation.
I love the silly, fun of Christmas Vacation and Clark's way of wanting to do for his family and give them the best.
I love the sweetness of A Christmas Story, the sweet innocence of the kids (though they could have left the nasty language out, the strength of the Mother, the gruffness of the Father and yet the tenderness he showed.
Hubby and I can surely identify with many things in this movie so it is dear to our hearts.
