My Dog Sam
Dear Abby, I too was picked on when I was a child and I too turned to our dog Queenie. She always gave me love and she always listened. Bless you.
We bought my in-laws a stove last year, they nearly feel over...haha. Their's quit on them the day before Christmas Eve! They were strapped for cash in the worst way, so we blessed them. It was a good feeling.
This year is probably the biggest for gifts, I'm so excited about it. We already bought the in-laws a BBQ in July for their Christmas gift and they were totally surprised about that too (they haven't owned a BBQ for a few years). My dad is a huge Leafs fan and hasn't gotten a new jersey for many years now and we got him a personalized jersey with his name and number on it. I'm excited about giving that for sure. My parents 25th anniversary is Dec.28th, so we got them a personalized license plate for their car. My niece has wanted a membership to Club Penguin since last Christmas and we got her one this year. Just a really big year for personalized stuff. I ordered a GPS system for my husband and he has no clue. I told him it's way out of our budget for eachother, but I found one on sale at Sears!
I can't think of a favorite gift i've ever given that stands out above the rest. One thing though, I do love any gift i give my husband. i just love buying gifts for him and wrapping them. I love seeing his face with excitement when he opens each present. I'm really excited this year, because i bought him a leather jacket for Christmas. He's been wanting one so bad, and i know he's really going to love it.
The best gift I ever gave was when I was about 10 (or somewhere in that range). I made my mom an eyeglass holder and a small change purse. It was actually made with some tacky green looking quilted material. . . LOL. I found the change purse in one of her drawers a few years ago, and in it she still had the xmas tag, plus some pictures of me and my sisters and brother. I remember her using the eyeglass holder, but I didn't know she was actually using the change purse.
Anything that we give the kids is appreciated so much. One thing that sticks out is when we bought them a Play Station. I put it in a box that Cheesies and been in for Halloween. The kids unwrapped it and my DS looked at it with this funny look on his face and said, "I don't really like Cheesies."...LOL... It was priceless.
This year I am most looking forward to giving my DS his RockBand for Wii, my DD her digital camera and my parents are getting satellite TV. Hooray! They will finally have more than 2 channels.
