I didn't give up anything for lent this year - I am doing quite the opposite! For lent I am eating all of my required fruits/veggies every day & getting the required amount of calcium! I am TERRIBLE about eating veggies, so this has been a challenge. I'm also not very good about drinking milk. When I thought about giving something up (as far as a food) I realized I have been on weight watchers since Jan. 7th & I have already pretty much given everything bad up! LOL! (ok - not quite EVERYTHING, but a lot of things! ) I am also trying for "no more piles" - I get so tired of piles starting on my kitchen table or counter every day! Papers, letters, mail, etc...I get tired of that stuff "gathering" on my counter - so no more piles for lent! We also don't eat meat on Fridays.

I don't normally give anything up (I go to a Baptist Church). But I often do some special readings or something...

Holiday, welcome to WW! I've been doing it for about a year and a half now, I've lost 88lbs so far. I am hoping to get another 23 off to reach my goal. It hasn't always been easy, but I'm doing it, and so can you! Keep up the good work!

CharlestonNole, I wasn't thinking that you were judging! I just put that out there as a general FYI to everyone. I'm sorry if you thought I was, it certainly wasn't my intent.

Last year during Lent, it was my first Lent after being diagnosed with diabetes. I had already given up so much that I chose to do something extra....I tried learning a prayer but failed with that. I'm doing it this year and am doing so much better. I will learn it this year. No failure two years in a row. I guess I have a better attitude with it all. BTW, I'm Catholic.
