I made these and I found do not leave them in the oven according to the time in the recipe. They will be very hard. The time in the recipe is longer than the time on the bread sticks package. The next batch I halved the time on the bread sticks package and they were much better.

This recipe calls for splitting the bread sticks before you bake them which makes them smaller so therefore you don't need to bake them as long as you would if they were regular size.

I just wanted to share this tip from experience. I know oven temps vary but still it's best to keep an eye on these and not trust the time in the recipe.
