I had a fun day, yesterday! My friend and I went to Grand Victoria Casino. This is usually where we go when we gamble. She received a card in the mail offering her two complimentary tickets to Bob Eubank's $250,000 Game Show Spectacular. We got there around 10:45. It was recommended to be there by 11:00. She got the tickets and took one. I grabbed the other as she was starting to move. We had orange wristbands that you had to put on. We waited. My back bothered me just a little. We went in and chose seats on the end about 2/3's of the way back. There were some preliminary games similar to what Monty Hall did on Let's Make a Deal. He was close to us but I didn't have what he wanted. That was our warm-up before Bob Eubanks came out. They started with something but I can't recall what it was. I was holding my ticket and thinking the entire time, "There's no way my number will be called even though I did a dog-eared fold on the corner of the ticket stub we turned in. Well, Bob announced that he needed three people who liked music to play the next game. He asked who liked music and I yelled and screamed like we were asked to do. He called one number and then 0576. OMG! Guess what ticket number I had! Yes! It was 0576. I was going to play "Name That Tune." Now, depending on what kind of songs they played, I'd do okay. The winner would receive $300.00. We had these large maraccas that Bob called "willies." We were to shake them if we knew the title and answer when he called on us. I didn't know the first song. Then, he looked at us and asked if we liked country. I know that I shook my head and answered loudly. Well, I knew it and show my "willie." LOL It was "Boot Scootin' Boogie." I tried the third song but got it wrong. I knew the next one....and you should've seen the look on Bob's face when he called on me. It was "Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini." I think he was shocked because they only had like three notes of the song before I shook my "willie." LOL Okay, I had two. The guy in the middle had zilch. The other gal whose name was also Mary had two. The next song, I knew but I gave the wrong title and I'll alway remember the song title now. I said it was "Trailer for Sale or Rent." Nope, it was "King of the Road." Dang! No one else knew it. I was so nervous. I didn't win as I didn't know the last song and couldn't tell you what it was now if I had to. I didn't win $300.00 but they did give us two runner-ups $100.00. Not bad. I told myself before going that if I won anything, I was giving half to Theresa, my friend. I told her that and she said, "No." When I cashed in my certificate, I asked for two fifties. They'd be harder to spend at the casino because I'd have to think about it first. I didn't need to as I did okay in the casino, too. Not great, but I brought some of that money home. Theresa did take the fifty as I handed it to her on the way to our car. I'm so glad. I wouldn't have gotten anything if she hadn't gotten us the tickets. I had fun! I only played on 3 machines. I tried $20.00 on a quarter machine and blew that. I then went to the back where penny machines were. They have the Munsters and it was free so that's where I sat. I sat for a long time. The machine next to me kept hitting when someone tried it so when it had been empty for a while, I put a $5.00 bill in it. I hit it for $60.00. I know it's not a lot but for $5.00, not bad. Thanks for reading. It was a lot of fun.
