Ours are used to the tree so they don't tinker with it too much, however, they do enjoy laying on the window-sill behind the tree or sometimes under it, then we have the problem of them play fighting and accidently ripping open any presents we have under there

My cocker spaniel is about 16 months old now so last christmas she was still a smallish puppy last christmas! My mum wouldn't let her near the tree most of the time because she got all excited and my mum didn't want her poking her eye out!
But when she was in the room she would bounce and bark at thre tree because we had fairy lights that played some christmas songs which flashed to the rhythm of the christmas songs so we had this 7 month old puppy bouncing from side to side barking at tree! I was asif a scrappy Doo's cocker spaniels cousin had come to visit ahaha!

When Thor was with us, he liked to walk under the lower branches to scratch his back and hear the ornaments clink together... otherwise, he was pretty oblivious to the whole "tree inside the house" thing...

My dog doesn't bother the ornaments but, she snoops under the tree regularly to see if there is anything under there for her. And then sometimes she gets too close and I can hear the ornaments clinking together (as George would say) and I have to tell her to go easy on the tree!!! She likes to lay under it while I'm putting up too because our cat used to lay under the tree and she can smell him on the tree skirt (I guess) because she lays on the exact spot he laid on.

We didn't have that problem when we had a dog. We did however have that problem with our eldest daughter her second Christmas.
She was 15 months old and loved that tree. She was always taking ornaments off it. I told her not to touch them, so instead she would stand there with her hands behind her back and try to take them off with her mouth instead!
