My daughter and I go to TOPS (take off pounds sensibly) where we are learning this. We both have a lot to loose too and are on a 1500cal a day meal plan. At the start of each week we sit down together and plan our menu every day. This also includes "snacks" 3 x's a day. Our program is Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, supper snack. (Snacks are fruits, vegies and dips, crackers and cheese etc.) It all works into the calorie count for the day.
My point is that we need to learn to eat healthy and make it a habit because that will be something you can live with every day, not just for a few months.
Learn to love fresh fruits and vegies and stay away from prepackaged processed and canned foods.

YOU ARE SO RIGHT CHRISTMASSTAR !!!! Eating healthy is the ONLY way to lose weight and keep it off. Otherwise you just get into a jojo system and only make the problem worse. Eating healthy really just takes gettting used to. I have been eating healthy for years and now don't even like sugar anymore. Healthy meals can be very tasty and delicious. You just have to learn new ways to cook. And don't go hungry !! You won't last long if you don't eat enough. And of course exercise is very important too. You don't have to go to the gym every day or hit the treadmill for hours. Just use your own legs and start walking, cycling, etc... leave the car home a bit more often, take the stairs instead of the elevator, etc etc.... once you get going it really isn't that hard !
THE MAIN KEY IS TO REALLY WANT TO CHANGE !!!
