im having a party for the kids...but my daughter says she doesnt like Halloween, lol Shes only 5 but she can watch the gremlins and the ghostbusters yet shes afraid of Halloween...im wondering if there is a 'holiday' she does actually like because she doesnt like santa either, well, to go visit him in a grotto anyway, lol
My grandson use to be afraid of Halloween and was afraid Santa but now he does just fine. I also use to babysit a girl that was terrified of Santa and even the Easter Bunny. I tried to take her to the mall several times to see them both but she wouldn't have anything to do with them. She was not afraid of little bunnies, she was afraid of the grown people dressed in bunny costumes.
I am not sure what I am doing for Halloween yet. I really want to go with my grandchildren trick or treating but I might end up staying home passing out candy.
I decorated the inside of my house. A week before Halloween, my siblings are coming over to carve pumpkins. On Halloween day, I'll decorate the outside of my house, likely with the help of my sister. Then I'll be giving out candy that night. Besides that, not much is going on that day.
This will be my first year living in a neighborhood, so I'm excited to finally give out candy for trick or treat.
We will dress up the girls and go trick or treating to the houses at my mom's in the cul de sac where she lives. Then every year we go out to my husbands grandma's house for a bonfire, chili and goodies. My brother in law might take my oldest (3.5) to a few houses to trick or treat out there, too.
Nothing special going on here. WE get a lot of kids, last year i think we had close to 100. WE like to bundle up and sit outside and give out candy. Most of our other neighbor's do the same thing. it's so much easier than getting up to answer the door.
