My Merry Christmas Announcement

Christmas Together We're here year round and even though we are scattered all over the world and most of us have never met face-to-face we find ways to celebrate the season together. From our annual Christmas exchanges to scheduled chats our Christmasing together is discussed here.

After our experience last year with the job loss right before Christmas we've decided to make gifts to charities in our family members names. Who needs another toaster or package of socks? lol

Hubby: A model of a Saturn 5 rocket. His dad worked on them.
Son: He's already got a list for Santa as long as my arm. Mostly DVDs and games of course! He did mention something about a scorpion hand puppet. *shudder*

I am making a friend a CHRISTMAS CRAZY BOX... she loves it like I do so it is basically a recipe box that I will divide into areas.... food / drink & decorations & crafts & FUN IDEAS .... then I am going to fill it with pre-made cards for each area... and then give her a wack of blanks to add in her own favourites over the years....

other then that we will be doing a plastic free christmas again I think.. so most of the family will get tickets to a musical or show

no other ideas yet...

I'm going to be making most of my gifts this year, except for the nephews, step-son, and hubby. I'll be making food gifts along with crafts and scarves. My youngest nephew wants Woody and Buzz Lightyear. I'm pretty sure I have mine from the original movie so I may just give them to him....maybe. I might just keep them myself so he doesn't ruin them! (He's only two). My step-son will be 14, so he's at a difficult age. He likes sports, video games, and music. Maybe we could be him a nice guitar or drum set, something that he can use for many years.

present

So far, all I bought was some nice Bath and Body Works gift sets for my 3 SiLs, 3 neices. They had a 50% sale for Columbus day 2 weekends ago. All of their fall gift basket sets were half price to make room for the holiday well. Well I bought them all gift baskets and will just have to take the orange or cream ribbon off the basket and replace it with a red, green or some festive ribbon from the $1 store. For less than $100 I got 6 really nice gifts.....boy....dont you just love a bargain.

Thats all I have done so far. Havent even started on DH, DS(17)(26) or DD(3) or DGD(6). Or the In-laws, and other family members. My list is about 25 people long, but I am not complaining
