My first bah humbug of the season...

So I already got my first Bah Humbug of the season today. I went to the library today after class and got some Christmas CDs and some Christmas decorating books. The librarian gave me the funniest look when I put it all on the counter. She was like "Oh, already starting with the Christmas stuff?" And I was like " Yeah, I am already getting excited, I know it seems early..." She rolled her eyes and goes "UGH... Not me, I can't stand Christmas, I wish I could go to sleep in Mid-October and wake up in January." I was sad for her at this point. I said, "Really, I live my whole year for it...It goes by so quick I like to start early." She goes " Well at least you'll be ready"
It is so sad that people think like that I wish everyone understood what a magical special time of year it was and didn't look at as a burden or an obligation. I knew you guys would understand....And i am listening to my borrowed CDs right now!

No kidding??? A librarian, of all people? She keeps a shop for all seasons, doesn't she?

She should pop over to the stacks and check out that Dickens feller. A Christmas Carol is a ghost story, after all, and therefore in season...

That is such a shame. Some people just do not understand the real magic of Christmas.

Enjoy the CDs and books.

It seems the same way to me. I think people who can't seem to see past it seem to jumble everyone together in the same category..I have this problem with a few folks in my family.

Its right around the corner..and I couldnt be happier about that!

I get that a lot. The "I hate Christmas, wish I could sleep through the entire holiday season" response. I always feel a bit badly for those folks...they're missing out on the true spirit of the season, the joy, the laughter, the happiness that it can bring.

I live for Christmas and I am like you that it goes by too quickly! Unfortunately there will be some that suffer depression during that time and I really feel bad for them. A friend of mine's son was killed a few years ago at the age of 13. His birthday was December 24th. Christmas is a dreaded time for her and I understand completely. I guess if it is someone you don't know may hate the Christmas season is because it brings bad memories for them. I do know that there are some that hate Christmas for no reason at all and truly are scrooges! Lol...
