Outdoor LED lights?

Does anyone have any experience with outdoor LED Christmas lights? I'm talking about the large, C9, type of lights.
I threw out all of my strings of outdoor lights last year. They were getting old and weathered and seemed to blow more fuses than they should, so I threw them out. Now I'm looking for replacements. I believe that I've heard that LEDs are not as bright or intense as regular lights; but, I'm really excited that you can string dozens of these together without concern for pulling too much current. It was really a pain to have an extension cord for every three strings of the incadescent lights.
Anyway, if anyone has any experience with these, I'd like to hear about it.

Thanks,
YS
