star Mixed bag

Well the past few days certainly has been a mix bag of weather. We had at least 4 inches of sleet on Wed. nite into Thurs. morning. It was like shoveling a giant snowcone, just awful heavy stuff. Then yesterday (Thurs.) afternoon, we had rain, then thunder and yes lightning. All of that is gone except we had snow flurries overnite and now it is freezing, temps in the very low double digits and going to dip into the single digits.

Hubby who never says the roads are bad for driving, actually said Thursday morning was awful when he did his commute to work, (he drives 35 miles one way). For him to admit the roads were terrible, I know they were really bad.

Anyone else experience the thunder and lightning storm here in the northeast? This is only the 2nd time in my life that I've experience such a weather pattern.
The first time it happened during a snowstorm as we were arriving home and I opened the car door to get out, a flash of lightning startled me.

I'm all for moving Christmas to early October and Thanksgiving to Sept. Sure would be easier for us folks who have to deal with nasty winter weather as we prepare for the holidays.

We missed out this round; but what you are describing is our typical winter storm type of weather in OK. We don't get much snow, but we get sleet several times a winter. We also tend to get rain, then freezing temps overnight that cause just pure clear ice on the roads. It's a mess... I'm hoping for a plain-old snow storm sometime this Winter. We get one every few years, and it's been a few years, so... maybe...

Hang in there. I bet it clears up in the next couple of days.

Well, snow flurries on Thursday and very, very cold temps. I've lived in PA. all my life except for a few years in Virginia (I love Virginia), so I'm use to long cold winters. It's just the older I get, the more I dread the cold. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Didn't finish decorating outside but it doesn't matter, I'm packing what's left back in the containers. Too cold to enjoy decorating.
Keep warm everyone.
