No cookies today!

Planned all week to have my grandchldren here today (Saturday) to do our traditional cookie baking/decorating. This will be the first year for the 2 yr. old., but as usual the snow caused us to cancel all plans. Just another Pennsylvania snowy winter.

No reason to risk going out in this mess and it's still coming down so I don't want my precious grandchildren out on the roads.

So I may just do some cookies by myself (no fun) and hopefully we can get a day in before Christmas.

Those in the south who are not use to winter driving, please be careful. I know your states are not equipped to handle snow (I lived in the D.C. area for 2 winters and I was amazed at the way people were driving when it was just snow flurries, no snow on the roads or ground). It was a panic situation and I never understood why since I come from the north. Luckily, I never experienced a snowstorm while living in the D.C. Just flurries and a little ice and Spring came so early, I loved it.

Drive carefully My Merry Christmas.com family.

I'm sorry to hear that your cookie date with your grandkids got cancelled, but it's best to be safe. Here in Maryland, the snow is over my knees. We usually don't get any snow at all until January, and we just weren't ready for this! I doubt anyone here will go anywhere until at least Monday afternoon. Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy some quiet time baking cookies. Have a cup of hot chocolate and a good laugh at all us folks in Maryland who are afraid of the snow!

sorry to hear that your cookie day has been cancelled. But it is safer to stay indoors in the type of nasty weather all of you are now expereincing there. Maybe you could bake some cookies, and send some over to your grandkids so they can still enjoy some Christmas cookies.

Well that's a bummer! I can somewhat relate. Although we haven't had snow lately my niece who is 5 usually comes over to do cookies with my daughter and I but she's been sick. Not sure if we will get to do it before Christmas or not. I don't blame you for not wanting your grandchildren out on the slippery roads...not worth the risk. But I do hope you all still get the chance to do this together.

that's too bad, they must be more disappointed than you are.
Maybe you could get them all baked and have them over for an afternoon of decorating?

Snow storms sure cause a lot of havoc, thats for sure. The family holiday party with my husban's family was scheduled for this past Sat, but by SIL cancelled it because of the snow. it was stupid to cancel, since it didn't start snowing until almost 8pm.
