candle New Christmas Tradition. Your Suggestions?

We're starting a new tradition at our house this year. I've bought a little notebook, and I'm asking each member of the family to jot down what they most want for Christmas, along with anything else they'd like to add.

On Christmas Eve, I'm shooting a photo of the family. It goes in the notebook. Come January, it'll be packed away with our decorations, to sleep until next year.

I think it will be fun to look back years from now and see what was important to us, and what we looked like.

No electronics or books on my list this year. Just these things:

*Be thankful for my blessings.
*Show the people around me that I love them.
*Take no day for granted and use my God-given gifts to the fullest.

Okay, gang, add to it.

What should we include in our Christmas notebook? Weather report? Clippings from the tree? Photos from a shopping excursion? I'll bet you have wonderful suggestions that would never occur to me.

Thanks!

I have copied and pasted to add to this wonderful list...

*Take no day for granted and use my God-given gifts to the fullest.
I am adding:
*Smile at the stranger in the street to remind us we are all in this together.

Okay, gang, add to it.

We have a book that is just for our annual photo Christmas card and the Christmas letter we send out with our Christmas cards. Our Christmas letters are pretty much a summary of the year so we have a picture/summary for every year.

If you have kids, it might be fun to add their current interests, what they are involved in, who their friends are, what their favorite song, movie, book, etc.

Sounds like a fun idea!

I always keep a copy of the menu from the years before. That way I can look back and see what we enjoyed and dishes that didn't go over so well.

Include your Christmas tree in the photo of your family---then you can see how your tree looked from year to year. Maybe jot down what you think was the best gift you got that year.

Christmas Eve and Day weather reports would be awesome! Maybe a catalog from that season (Yankee Candle, Toys R Us, etc.)! One of the Christmas cards from your send-outs? Maybe have everyone write in the notebook again on Christmas night and write their memories from the day?

We've never done this, yet I recently heard about these two interesting traditions.

1. Leaving a single ornament on the Christmas tree when time to place it out on the curb (or wherever.) The thought: to send it away with a 'little something' to remember the joyous season and to bring it warmth now that it's alone in the cold.

2. Following the same method (of leaving a single ornament) to offer as a gift to street people.
