Christmas Controversy & Opinion Visit Defend Christmas.com Presented by Defend Christmas, this forum covers the difficult topics of the season -- from the famed and fabled War on Christmas to church and state debates to using the star or the angel on the Christmas tree. Modern Christmas celebration has it's complications -- schools are divided, some Christmas light displays are too much, some even argue that it is better to call it a "holiday" tree. Some merchants won't even say "Merry Christmas"! Where there is controversy, there is insanity. Even in Christmas.

Wondering why calling it "art" makes it ok?

A lot of sick things have been done in the name of art. Take Cher, for example.

I sometimes consider myself an artist. My work can be dark at times, but I never go out of my way to offend people at all, it's called respect. There's lots of dirt eaters out there who enjoy pushing peoples buttons, and unfortunately that's their right. I guess. I dont know. But I do know this; all it takes is a ski mask, the cover of night and some quick feet to dispose of so-called "art"...

Or... in a FAR LESS criminal manner... simply whirl around 180 degrees on your feet and look the other way, ignoring the offensive image, giving it less credibility and reducing the potenial pay day for the artist (and it's usually all about the money, fame, notoriety, shock value)... this kind of happy horse s**t only matters if you LET it matter...

Destruction of private property..? Not so much... my mama always told me "two wrongs don't make a right"...

Guaranteed if the rifle was in Santa's hands, "the artists" would have been in court facing some kind of charge.

Poor Santa always gets picked on.
