Christmas Controversy & Opinion Visit Defend Christmas.com Presented by Defend Christmas, this forum covers the difficult topics of the season -- from the famed and fabled War on Christmas to church and state debates to using the star or the angel on the Christmas tree. Modern Christmas celebration has it's complications -- schools are divided, some Christmas light displays are too much, some even argue that it is better to call it a "holiday" tree. Some merchants won't even say "Merry Christmas"! Where there is controversy, there is insanity. Even in Christmas.

US Supreme Court Refuses to Hear Appeal of Candy Cane Case

The U.S. Supreme Court today refused to hear an appeal from some Texas parents who wanted to stop their school district from regulating when students can pass out religious-themed material to classmates. The court refused to hear an appeal from some parents from the Plano Independent School District. The district in 2005 told elementary students that religious-themed [...]

Well, in this case I have to agree, if it is a public school then those of any religious faith need to respect that and hand out material when it is allowed. I think if they respect that they will get their message across much better than the force it down their throats method.
Our church works with the public school next to it and we read with the kids, clean, help with fund raisers etc. We do not "preach" or hand out any literature. But we are now getting lots of questions and have the opportunity to share our faith, but again, only when asked.
