My Merry Christmas Announcement

Christmas Decorations Christmas is a hands-on art. From the lights we put on the house to the decorations we put on the tree to the great foods we eat in the process, Christmas is a time of doing -- and this is the place we gather to talk, plan and share.

Pecan Log (family recipe)

This is my grandmother's recipe for Pecan Logs. She used to make these every year and give them to each of her eight children (and their families) at Christmas. A few years ago she taught me how to make them so I could carry on the tradition This recipe makes a large log that could easily be cut in half or more for multiple gifts. Hope you enjoy!

Pecan Logs

1 lb. box Graham Cracker Crumbs
1 lb. Pecans, chopped into small pieces
1 lb. Box Raisins
2/3 of a 1 lb. bag Marshmallows
1 to 1 1/2 cans Eagle Brand Milk

Mix crumbs, pecans, raisins and marshmallows. Add milk. Mix ingredients and pack them together tightly (it helps to butter your hands). Form a tight log shape. Wrap in foil and refrigerate for several hours. Slice and serve.
