Just downloaded one onto my player - Home in Time for Christmas. Looks promising and from what I've listened to it's going to be great. Think time-travel meets Christmas!!

Starts out on Christmas Eve 1776 and the male lead is on the gallows for treason (against the British). The trap opens and the last thing he feels is falling. Cut to present day Christmas Eve and the female lead is driving along when, out of nowhere, this colonial soldier appears on the road and she swerves to miss him but catches him slightly, knocking him down.

That's where I am so far but it's looking really good.......!!!

I know, right ??!! When Dickens is describing the coldness permeating everything and the frosty on the breath of the people....and how cold Scrooge was inside and out...brrr !!!! I have to get a blanket !!!!! And then the arrival of the ghosts is absolutely terrifiying !!!! I have a version called The Annotated Christmas Carol and it has all kinds of notes and things on the sides of the pages.......One note it has is about the phrase "I'll retire to Bedlam.." According to my annotated copy "Bedlam" was slang for a mental hospital whose name was Bethlehem !! I find this stuff fascinating !

I need to get this version!

I read David Balducci's The Christmas Train this year - it was surprisingly good.

The version I have is here: The Annotated Christmas Carol

It also has a LOT of background on the reading tours Dickens made later in life, including the text of his reading version.
