Growing up....my favorite Holiday treats were my mom's Pralines and Cherry and Date cookies. She's been gone for many years. But, the memories of baking in the kitchen during the Holiday's will never be forgotten.

I miss my mom's and grandmother's Baby Ruth cookies. I tried to make them once, but was not very successful. The ingredients include chopped-up Baby Ruth candy bars. I could never figure out where the chocolate went, because the cookies themselves don't seem to have any chocolate in them, in spite of the candy bars. They had kind of a toffee flavor about them. I still have the recipe.
For candy---I can't let a Christmas season go by without a few Terry's chocolate oranges. I can't make up my mind between the dark or milk chocolate, so I have both.
I had never even heard of this until last year when my Bro and SIL sent us some. I guess it's a PA Dutch thing. The thought of 'potato candy' kinda put me off, but I thought it was okay, just a little overly sweet for me.
