I'm hosting Christmas Eve!

I'm so excited. This year I am hosting Christmas Eve!!! I had to convince my mom to give it up since she usually hosts it every year but she finally caved. I'm so excited I can't wait. Finally, someone will be here to enjoy my Christmas decorations that I worked so hard to put up.

What is everyone else doing for Christmas Eve?

I love Christmas Eve and our tradition has always been to go to my mom's and she didn't want to give it up. I've been trying to get it off of her for years. This year she caved in and let me have it!!

Tanja, I hope your turkey turns out ok. They aren't that bad to make. If you do end up at Burger King or McDonalds I'm gonna laugh my butt off at you! hahaha!!!!!

Hope you all enjoy your Christmas with your families.

I think it would be nice to not have to leave home December 23-26 and be the hostess. However, I would dread the preparation of my house to host all the people!

On Christmas Eve we are usually at home all day: DH & DD doing their normal thing on watching tv and eating, me cleaning the house for Santa's arrival and watching Christmas television. In the evening, we visit DH's best friend & bf's parents and exchange gifts. When we come home, DD & I make cookies for Santa & throw out reindeer food in the front yard. I stay up late & watch some Christmas Story and a local Christmas show before helping Santa put out DD's gifts. I go to bed around midnight.

I hope your Christmas Eve's turn out perfect! Well normally I work a 1/2 day but this year we have off since Christmas falls on a Saturday. I am not sure what we will do during the day, maybe make cookies? We go over my In Laws for dinner. I like to be home by 7:30 or 8 so the kids can get their bath and put out cookies for Santa.

OOh that sounds amazing! maybe once we have moved I could host it as well

I usually spend all my day preparing cakes, I do regret having to make an exam on that day... I guess I'm going to have to accept it... and then we drive home to the town our parents live, and we have a simple dinner, go to church, and then watch a Christmas movie while enjoying some warm food and drinks

I can feel your excitment just by reading your post.

We usually go to my cousin's house for Christmas Eve, but they have not yet mentioned anything, so we will see.

All of your plans sound great! I am very excited to host this year. I did Thanksgiving which I usually do and I love to do that but I've wanted to host Christmas Eve so bad I could taste it. I'm gonna set food out and cookies and have Christmas Story on the tv and all of my gifts will be wrapped real pretty in front of the tree. All of the lights on, feeling real cozy and this year I have a fireplace! I just got it. It's an electric one and it's also an entertainment center so my tv sits on top of it. I love it. I am super excited!!!!!

I hope you all have a great Christmas eve and day.

I don't have a lot of people coming so the prep work isn't that bad. But it's gonna be so nice to not have to leave my house and drag gifts to my mom's and then back home a few hours later. Even though she's close it was such a pain. Something I dreaded doing. I remember when I lived at home we used to leave cookies and something for the reindeer before heading off to bed. Good times!
