My Merry Christmas Announcement

Christmas Decorations Christmas is a hands-on art. From the lights we put on the house to the decorations we put on the tree to the great foods we eat in the process, Christmas is a time of doing -- and this is the place we gather to talk, plan and share.

Reindeer Food!

Reindeer Food
Sprinkle on the lawn or door step at night.
The moon will make it sparkle bright as Santa's reindeer fly and roam,
this will guide them to your home!

How to make:

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup instant oatmeal
2 tbsps of glitter* (substitute edible sprinkles if you live in an area with wildlife)

Gift Idea:

You can also put this in a decorative baggie, seal it with red ribbon, and attach a Christmas pencil as a small gift at a school or church Chrismtas Party.

Many thanks to one of my favourite websites. Lots of Christmas content ladies!

I have been thinking about doing that this year with my daughter. I almost did it last year but didn't get around to it but I think I will make the time for this year. I think she would enjoy this.

cathymac is a new face around here!
We do that every year, and it's the highlight of my little boys' Christmas Eve. They will be 6 & 7 this year, and I know that the days are numbered that they will be interested in this sort of thing, but for now we love it. It's the last thing we do before bed. I also always take a bag to my nieces and nephews, and they do it, too.

We do this every year. My kids always love it. Just one suggestion...Make sure that the reindeers eat most/a lot of it. Enough so you can tell it was nibbled on (especially if your little ones just dump it out in a pile so "it will be easier for the reindeer to eat"). You don't want disappointed kids if it looks the same as when they left it.
