If you like the history behind christmas things (like me!) the "Christmas Customs and Traditions, their history and significance" by Clement A Miles is a very good (but wordy!) read. It was first published in 1912 but you can get reprints of it.

"Can Reindeer Fly?" by Roger Highfield is a very good (and often funny) book about the science of Christmas - like why is Rudolph's nose red (turns out it's kinda gross) and what order should you eat the items on a Christmas dinner to get the best 'gravy levels'!

Another book about Christmas by Clement A. Miles (or maybe it's the same book with an older title, because it was also published in 1912), available to download or read online:

Christmas in Ritual and Tradition

I love both these books. In fact, I used the Can Reindeer Fly? in my Masters work!

I have the Nonesuch Dickens book that contains A Christmas Carol, the Cricket on the Hearth and other stories. It's the kind of book you can pick up any time of the year and read. I even brought it to a hospital waiting room last year when I thought the wait was going to be much longer than it was.

Sometimes when I need a Christmas bedtime story, I pick up my copy of the Memories of Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus. Various Santas (some associated with Clausenet) share their festive stories of visits with children.

I wouldn't recommend the Hallmark version of A Charlie Brown Christmas that I have if you are an avid Peanut fan because they used Peppermint Patty instead of Violet's quote just to please PP fans. She wasn't in the animated version so they should have left her out of it.

FYI - O'Malley the cat likes it, but he doesn't remember the special. HaHa

Has anyone read The Autobiography of Santa Claus (as told by Jeff Guinn)?

I picked it up for a penny a couple of weeks ago, and read some good reviews on it online. I was hoping to hear some more opinions.
