: Would you ever re-gift something given to you for Christmas?
Yes, I have no problem with that
Maybe, but only if the item duplicates something I already have
Maybe, it depends on other circumstances
No, that would be insensitive to the giver of the original gift

Do you Re-gift?
In preparation for a new series of features here at MMC we're researching trends and tips for the Frugal Christmas.
In our discussions about this topic we have had a lot of banter back and forth about the idea of re-gifting. Re-gifting is making a gift of a gift that you received.
The reasons for re-gifting can run the gamut of it being a duplicate item that one already has or because one might lack the resources to get a gift themselves for another person.
What do you think -- is it ok to re-gift?

I find nothing wrong with re-gifting. It's not that I don't value the gift that was given to me. I place enough value on it that I want to share it.

it really depends on all circumstances. Sometimes I re-gift a special Gift for a special Person.
Well,... I love my typing error

The missus will re gift some of the toys the boys receive sometimes only if we know the boys won't play with them, most times she will take the gifts to a charity shop.

If I receive a gift I don't like, I keep it for a few years. My likes change and I find a lot of times I will wear the clothes I thought I never would originally - esp. if I find the right accessory or shoes. If I have the gift already or it is something I really don't like, I will keep it for a while and then donate the item to a thrift store.

I said, "no" but not because I think it's insensitive but because I can't think of a gift I don't like. I can usually put gifts to use somehow even if it was something I would never buy.
I think it would depend on the circumstances if it was ok to re-gift.
I guess I just gave a yes-no answer.
