My Dog Sam
Dear Abby, I too was picked on when I was a child and I too turned to our dog Queenie. She always gave me love and she always listened. Bless you.
I begin to decorate on the 30th November/1st December. Then I begin to take everything down on the 5th January, so everything is packed away again by the evening of the 6th January. I'm always sad packing everything away but the time goes so fast that it only seems like yesterday that I said to my DD11 "We'll see all this again in 10 months". Now we're excited because we'll be putting our tree up next month!

I put my indoor decorations up the day after Thanksgiving (US one) and I try and have them down by Jan 6th. My outdoor decorations I will start to set up right after Halloween a little at a time.
Laurie is that because you have a lot of outside decorations?

When you take it down it's basically "all over", you're in the middle of a freezing cold winter and a million days away from the next season.
Uuugh...totally. I dread it. I know I shouldn't be thinking about it because we haven't even put them up yet but it's always in the back of my mind. It's one reason I'm not dying for the season to start. It will be here in 3 weeks and then it races to the finish.
Looking forward to Christmas a little early this year.
