Bill Melendez tried to talk Charles M. Schulz out of using Biblical references (especially Linus's speech) in this special. Schulz reportedly won him over by saying, "If we don't do it, who will?" The original airing of A Charlie Brown Christmas has not been seen on TV since the 1960s. Small edits had been taking place for years before ABC came along. A friend of mine pointed out they are missing alot of parts. THere is also another Peanuts movie that they do not show anymore and it involved Charlie Brown going to NYC in search of Snoopy. Apparently it had way too much mention of Jesus and stuff like that. It was set during the New Years season and all I can say is, I am really getting tired of all this PC stuff.
