Best Buy Commercials
Maybe I'm just being weird or too sensitive, but I've really taken issue with this seasons Best Buy commercials. There's a series of them showing women at Best Buy, shopping for their family. The sales associate helping them out mentions something like "Santa better watch out, huh?" and then later, there's one that shows a woman sitting in the corner of the room when Santa arrives. She simply stares him down as she gulps down the milk that was left for him. The other one shows Santa attempting to find space to put a toy in the hanging stockings, and the woman starts kind of mocking him talking about how she didn't leave any room for him and how he should give his gifts to the dog.
I hate these commercials. It's like they're making Santa (or the idea of him) irrelevant and unnecessary. Not only this, but it takes the overall commercialism of Christmas to another level. It really makes it look like they're picking on Santa in these commercials and, seeing as how much I love Santa and his legend, I hate that they're portraying him as some unwanted old man who gives lame gifts.
