JoePa, a living legend and a wonderful family man

In the days since Joe Paterno's (Penn State's football coach) passing, you hear people saying what a great man he was, which to me, he was a living legend, almost like a grandfather, if I would have known. Some people don't see eye to eye on that with me and that's okay.

What makes me mad on the situation is the people you hear saying that he was a great man, when just a few weeks to months ago, people would say that he was in wrong doing and he wasn't that great of man.

People are still forgetting the real man at fault here and I'm not even going to say his name, because to me, at this time, with mourning the loss of JoePa, horrible things shouldn't even be talked about, the scandal keeps being talked about with it.

I will just say this:Not only does JoePa have the most wins in college football and coached my favorite football or the college I went to, but he was a loving husband, a great father, and grandfather. He was also a living legend. Even just a month or so after being fired from the University, he still donated over $100,000. The paycheck this coming year for the coach is going to be tremendous, nothing compared to what JoePa made. He made next to nothing. This was the house he lived in.

He still had his name and address, with phone in the phone book, walked to practice everyday, to and from the stadium for the games, and never wanted a police escort. The only coach in college football. That is saying a lot . He didn't need anything great. He was just an average man and I will always think a lot of him. When my kids are old enough to understand, I will be teaching them about him!

This is my favorite interview regarding the passing of JoePa:

Let's keep him, his family, the players, and anyone asssociated with Joe.
