I always take one week off suring summer and meet my whole extended family usually in Oregon, but this year we are going to Montana the last week of July right before brandi goes back to teaching the first of august. I actually take my 5 weeks of vacation like this.
1 week for family exteneded family during the summer
2 weeks the end of October..Usually I stay at home but take a short trip to the mountains to Leaf peep.
and of course 2 weeks at christmas time. Last year I took 3 weeks all together at Christmas but it was actually too long. it took the whole month of January to get use to working agian!!

For us this year, it will be a very low key. Our daughter is going away to college and needless to say, I have a college bill to pay for. So, it look likes it will be a home vacation, sitting on the deck, with the grill going and a couple bottles of Landshark Ale resting in a bucket of ice....

We are deciding between Disney World, Las Vegas, a cruise, or a beach trip, although we might not end up doing anything. We'd love to go to the beach and rent a house or stay as close to the ocean as possible. While we've taken trips to Ocean City, it's always been in a hotel. Another option we're considering is a cruise. We haven't been on one for years and they are just so relaxing! We will be going to Disney World in October, but that is for business so there won't be much time to relax. We might want to go in the summer just to hang out and have fun. The last option is Vegas. I will be turning 21 shortly so we think it'd be nice to go, have some fun, eat good food, see shows, and gamble a little bit! :] Like I said, if we did any it'd only be one and we might not do anything special at all.

We're pulling the camper to Myrtle Beach this summer to stay a week. I dread the eight hour trip, but I can't wait for DH & DD to play in the ocean for the first time! Neither of them have been to the ocean before. I've prepared my trip notebook (I'm a planner!), & DH has said that might just get there & stay on the beach all week. As long as the three of us are together alone, I don't care what we're doing!

DH, the kids, and I are going to Mytrle Beach, SC for a week, the first week of June. I never been there, so I am sooo excited! We usually go to OC, MD, so I can't wait.

We also plan on doing little trips, like camping, which is one of our favorite things to do as a family and we'll also take them to probably a theme park in our a few times and maybe go the Pittsburgh Zoo too. We've talked about several options fo small day trips, just haven't decided what all to do yet!

We love Myrtle Beach, too. There's so much to do that last time we went, I didn't even see the water...LOL!

Not exactly summer, but 2 weekends from now I'm going to Cedar Point in OH to ride the coasters.....and if I can convince my friends to do so, we will make a side trip to see A Christmas Story House in Cleveland. Excited!! I will post some pictures if it works out.
