What's your first sign of Christmas 2012?

I've been keeping an eye out in Hobby Lobby, and sure enough, within just the last few days, they're starting to roll out the Christmas and Fall decorations!

I went in there on Thursday, not expecting to find anything out yet, but in the very back of the seasonal section of the store, there was an aisle where they were JUST starting to put out Christmas items! One side of the aisle was filled with Christmas ribbons and mesh, the other side was nowhere near filled up yet. They were in the middle of putting in Christmas tree decorations on that side (not the ornaments, but stuff like fake figs, acorns, and sugerplums).

I had no money, so I resolved to come back on Friday and buy a little something, to commemorate the start of "getting ready for the holidays!" So I went back in the next day, and found out they had just overnight started to bring out Fall decorations as well! All they had out was just an endcap (aka "end of the aisle") display (not even a full aisle was set aside yet)! The endcap was filled with little ceramic squirrels and scarecrows, for decorating a shelf!

I went ahead and bought one little scarecrow, and a fake sugarplum for the Christmas tree. I'll post pics soon if I can!

But it looks like the 2nd half (and best half!) of the year is just about here, and I know other stores will be following suit soon! Has Hallmark got their ornaments out yet?!?

And what's your first sign of Christmas this year (if you've seen one yet)?!?

I actually noticed the same thing at Hobby Lobby. I try to stock up on ribbon when they mark it 50% off. And they already had a ton of wreaths and garlands out. After they start putting out holiday decor I will usually stop by weekly for the next several months!

We do not have that store here. I know several thrift stores keep Christmas stuff out all year round now.

In my country 'Christmas Stuff' is to be seen in some stores in October.

And MANY many people think it's to early. And they get real mad!?!

Starting demonstrations etc Say it's ruin Christmas.
They want Christmas stuff to be sold in December only!

So I guess I have to wait for a long time...

My husband, Snow-in-Texas, and I went into a clothing store yesterday and they were playing Lena Horne's version of Let it Snow!!! My eyes lit up! As soon as that song was over a pop song followed and I never heard another Christmas song. It's like they played it just for us because it didn't go with the rest of the music playing. Nice surprise for sure!

As far as Hobby Lobby goes, we haven't had a chance to go yet but I know they start putting Christmas items out by now. Hopefully we can make it out there soon!

I went in our Hallmark last week. The new ornaments aren't out yet, but last year's ornaments are on sale: But two at 1/2 price, get two free! I'm going back!

Well... I started working on this year's Christmas comic last week... always a sure sign for me...

Of course, it won't REALLY be Christmas until they play THIS on TV:
