I always seem to need a couple of things still on Christmas Eve, but I go in the morning. Sometimes it's a last minute gift, but more often it's something like tape or extra gift bags.

I guess it depends on the shopper. For me personally, no I don't shop on Christmas Eve, never have. In my family my mom pretty much handled all the present buying which she did year round and my dad was a big pre-planner so what he was buying, he always had well before Christmas Eve. Christmas Eve for us was a time to spend together, laughing, making memories. I don't suppose it ever occurred to me for it to ever be any different as an adult. My husband however IS a last-minute Christmas Eve shopper and according to him, yep, it's still jam-packed out there. LOL

I worked in retail for twenty years, and was always amazed at how busy our store was. I guess some people can;t afford to shop too early, and some just like to wait till the last minute.

I like to have mine done by then and do last minute shopping that day (as in last minute extra gift for family shopping). I think now if I remember from news stories last year the busiest shopping day is the Saturday before Christmas. I feel sorry for people who wait til Christmas Eve to start shopping. I love seeing the news reports where the guy or woman is going "Well I forgot it was Christmas." Really? All the stores decked out the endless barrage of ads and you FORGET!!! LOL!

I never really shop on Christmas eve but I do sometimes go to town just to see if I can pick up any last minute bargains, there's always the people who leave stuff to late and are just buying anything. I quite enjoy the buzz of it aswell really

Gift 2

My dad who loved Christmas and loved to decorate always waited until 4:45 pm to run up town to buy my Mother's Christmas present. Stores back then closed promptly at 5 PM and people respected that the workers also had families and needed to be home.

My Mother always had her shopping done by Christmas Eve but not her wrapping.

I do not shop on Christmas Eve day. I sincerely wish all stores would close very early so the employees can be home with their loved ones.

I usually have all of my shopping done a week before Christmas. I don't like feeling rushed.
